The Passport Bag is designed for you travel needs. Not only is it functional, but it is also attractive, made from 100% cotton with a colorful Guatemalan weaving adorning the front. Why not Own an original piece of Mayan textile in this practical design.

Design: With a long cord strap for easy carrying, the bag opens out revealing an array of useful pockets for all your travel documents. 3 zipper close pockets, 4 card slots, 1 pen holder and 1 large open pocket. Fastens closed with Velcro. Choice of 3 vibrant colors

The Passport Bag is a simple representation of the work of an artisan cooperative of 28 women from a small village near the town of Nahuala, Guatemala.

Their weaving is distinctive, depicting animal and nature motifs reflecting the symbolism and traditions of the Mayan people living in the region of Nahuala. Material is intricately woven with first quality colorfast cotton thread ensuring quality of design for years to come.

Producer Information:
Maya Traditions is working with over 100 Maya indigenous "Backstrap weavers" in five rural villages in the highlands of Guatemala; the mission is to support weaving groups and small family businesses through providing consistent income as well as health and education projects. As well as a commitment to the artisans, there are also ongoing workshops and educational projects to increase awareness and skills, and a scholarship program which helps to pay for schooling expenses for the children of the women in the weaving groups.
